Les Aventuriers Gaumais

web development project

Les Aventuriers Gaumais is a small Scout unit with around a hundred children.
Their website was built using the Bootstrap template provided by the "Fédération Les Scouts Baden-Powell de Belgique".

Over the course of a year, I supervised the development of the unit's visual identity and art direction, ensuring the template was effectively adapted to reflect their unique character, history and branding. In addition to the visual and graphic work, I significantly enhanced the static template by integrating a custom backend, transforming it into a dynamic and more functional website.

Presentation of the Scout Unit

The final website showcases the Scout Unit through various articles that introduce its mission and activities. A dedicated News section allows visitors to stay up to date via articles published through an RSS feed. A calendar keeps parents informed about upcoming key dates and events. Additionally, a registration portal simplifies the enrollment process for children at the start of each new scouting year.

Hello !

As a small unit at the heart of EU, located at the crossroads of France, Luxembourg, and Germany, we also put an emphasis on linguistic accessibility for the website. To achieve this, we developed the "Hello" platform, available at aventuriersgaumais.be/hello, which offers a simplified version of the site in Belgium’s three national languages as well as English.

Attendance tracking and much more

Finally, a dedicated dashboard, accessible only to the Unit's internal teams, streamlines administrative management. It includes attendance tracking, registration request management, access to game-sharing platforms, weather updates, a calendar, photo-sharing integration with TribuLens, a link shortener, a QR code generator, and a speed test. In short, everything you need for a seamless, modern scouting experience.
